News and Diary: Spring 2017
In January Fraser begins the new year by directing a creative project for the BBC which brings together young composers from across the country to present new music composed in repsonse the BBC's Total Immersion: Philip Glass weekend.
Join Fraser and the Total Immersion Ensemble on Januray 28th at the Barbican Centre London for the performance at 18.45.
In February, Fraser will lead a New Horizons creative project with the London Philharmonic Orchestra based around Ligeti's extraordinary orchestral work, Atmopsheres.

Adopt A Composer
This year Fraser is mentoring two composers, Martin Humphries and Adriano Adewale on the Making Music Adopt A Composer scheme. They have been working with the London Medical Orchestra and Horsham Symphony Orchestra respectively in a project that pairs composers with amateur or community perfoming groups to make new work over a year-long collaboration. Performances of both new works are due in early July 2017...
Amsterdam Training Program
March will see the culmination of the first instalment of a training project for the musicians of the Dutch Ballet Orchestra, when Fraser leads the orchestra in their first ever schools creative project, based on Stravinsky's magical ballet, The Firebird.

INSPIRE Composer Labs
Throughout February, March and April Fraser will travel the UK to lead the BBC Proms Inspire Composer Labs. These workshops offer a chance for young composers (12-18 yrs) to join professionals and orchestral musicians from some of the UK's top performing ensembles for a day exploring composition and creativity. The Labs are followed by the BBC Young Composers' Competition, results of which will be announced in June.
In April Fraser leads the LPO's Soundworks ensemble in a collaboration with young film makers from the BFI. See how the art forms combine is a special pre-concert event at the Royal Festival Hall, London on April 8th on the Ballroom Floor.
Royal College Percussion
On Friday May 19th Fraser presents a concert of percussion music for school children performed by students of the Royal College of Music.
Informative, fun, interactive and very loud!
Fraser will also be leading the Sparks Royal College of Music Summer School this August (dates tbc) developing young peoples creativitiy in response to music performed at this years BBC Proms.
